Nathaniel Rowe, director of the Speech Pathology and Audiology Licensing Board, and Matt Gilmore of the Department of Health presented proposed rule changes.
Rowe said the changes implement Acts 517 and 966 of 2025 and "expand the scope of practice of audiology slightly" while moving the license renewal deadline from June 30 to Oct. 31. Matt Gilmore said he did not come prepared to expand on tobacco prevention matters but introduced the licensing board speaker.
The committee reviewed the rule and paused for any objections; none were raised and the presenter said the rule will be reviewed by the committee.
