New West Hollywood sheriff station captain emphasizes community ties and staff commitment

She said she has spent considerable time in West Hollywood both on duty and personally, noting she visits restaurants and concerts and wants all visitors and residents to feel safe. "Anybody can come out here, go to bars, clubs, restaurants, and be safe," Lapkin said.
On staffing and morale, Lapkin said deputies and supervisory personnel "wanna be here" and that many choose to serve the West Hollywood community. She framed that staffing preference as a strength for local policing and community engagement.
Lapkin closed by expressing a desire for ongoing cooperation with city residents and leaders: "I hope that for the foreseeable future that we can have a friendship, we can have a relationship."
