Hampshire board approves sewer-lining, brine-tank and well-inspection contracts

The Hampshire Village Board on Sept. 25 approved several public-works contracts and a professional‑services agreement to address sewer and water infrastructure needs.
The board voted to waive bidding and approve a $25,004.88 contract with Vigi Sewer for pipe lining along a frequently televised sewer main (State to Jackson to Grove). Staff said jetting and clearing of roots was already complete and that the liner has a 50‑year design life though it is not sold as a warranty.
Separately, trustees approved a $34,515 contract with Mark Kresmery Construction LLC to rehabilitate brine tanks at the village’s drinking-water treatment plant. Staff described the work as specialized maintenance that is needed periodically and noted prior work with the contractor.
The board also approved a $19,860 professional‑services agreement with Engineering Enterprises Inc. (EEI) to remove and inspect equipment at well no. 12. Staff emphasized that the contract covers investigation, equipment removal and recommendations; any rehabilitation or replacement would be a separate project and procurements would follow staff recommendations.
Trustees approved each action by voice or roll call as the items were presented; staff said these are standard, specialized public-works procurements and that contracts were structured to expedite work with firms that have the required expertise.
