David listed candidate resurfacing streets (including Forest Hill Road and others last resurfaced in the early 2000s) and said the program balances preventive treatments—crack sealing and patching—with targeted resurfacing. He estimated the resurfacing projects would total about $459,000, with ancillary maintenance like patching and crack sealing around $140,000, for a road‑program total near $599,100.
The board approved the street and pathway committee recommendation by roll-call vote (6–0). David also updated trustees on ongoing projects: 79th Street pedestrian improvements (partly grant funded), coordination with Cook County on County Line Road improvements, and pathway replacements eligible for business‑district funds.
Evan presented the public kickoff of the FY26–30 Capital Improvement Program, estimating about $7,000,000 of CIP this year (about half in the water fund), identifying large items such as the Elm Street culvert (grant supported) and HVAC work at the police station, and saying staff plans to fund most work through operating balances, grants and the business district with no new debt anticipated.
Trustees asked follow‑up questions about project timing and funding sources. Staff said more detailed budget documents will be provided with the formal draft CIP.
