The Rohnert Park City Council certified administrative appointments and held a ceremonial program on Dec. 10 that included the administration of oaths of office, staff presentations and a year-in-review video.
City Clerk Sylvia Lopez Cuevas announced that the council adopted Resolution No. 2024035 on June 11, 2024, canceling the general municipal election scheduled for Nov. 5, 2024, pursuant to the California Elections Code, and stated that Samantha Rodriguez (District 1), Gerard Duttighe (District 3) and Jackie Alward (District 4) were appointed "as if elected" and administered the oath of office.
The council paused for a year-in-review presentation. City Manager Piedra presented a memory book and introduced a video highlighting staff and community accomplishments during Mayor Susan Adams’s year of service. Council members then offered reflections and outlined priorities for 2025, including downtown redevelopment, infrastructure upkeep and continued work on homelessness solutions.
No formal roll-call vote was required to administer the oaths; this session combined certification, ceremonial recognition and remarks. The meeting concluded with council remarks and a post-meeting reception.
