Public works staff said the project will remove 4 inches of existing asphalt and install 2 inches of base material plus a 2‑inch rubberized asphalt surface to improve longevity.
Public Works (Cabos/Carlos) told the council the project received three bids and the low bid allows staff to potentially extend the paved area to fully utilize the CDBG allocation. Council members discussed enforcement for heavy trucks traveling residential streets and asked staff about camera bids to deter truck traffic; the city manager confirmed the city is obtaining three bids for camera systems.
The council accepted the staff recommendation and corrected a typographical error in the dollar amount during the meeting record.
