A commissioner asked for more detail on what the company plans to install and about safety planning in the event of a fire. “It’d be kinda nice to know what their plan is, if there’s a fire…what safety precautions are gonna go up,” the commissioner said, noting that while the county may have limited regulatory authority, it should understand safety and monitoring plans.
The judge directed staff to obtain contact information for the company and requested that representatives meet with the commissioners and county engineering staff so the court can get a fuller briefing before voting on the proposed agreement. The court voted to defer the item and instructed engineering and staff to monitor road use agreements more closely and to coordinate with precinct commissioners when projects affect local roads.
