Board asks for more information before approving research and sale of tax-deeded parcels

A board member described the vendor's proposed approach and the vendor's offer to conduct the research at no legal expense to the town. Board members pressed for assurances that the vendor would identify any parcels already designated for conservation or otherwise held by the town prior to scheduling sales.
"We just want to be sure that none of these parcels that they've identified ... the town has already established the correct information," one board member said, asking staff to verify the list and identify parcels the town might wish to retain.
The board did not approve any sale or research contract that night; members asked staff to obtain clarifications from the vendor and to bring a clarified list back at a future meeting before any sale is scheduled.
