Steve (speaker 3), reporting for the trustees, said the trustees solicited bids from three contractors; two responded with complete proposals and one bidder’s submission was incomplete because it lacked proof of insurance. "They put out bids for 3 contractors. 2 responded. 1 did not. 1 was not complete," he said.
Following discussion of past performance and crew size, Steve moved to award the contract to the trustees’ preferred firm; another board member seconded the motion. The board approved the award by voice vote.
The trustees said the incomplete submission lacked the required insurance certificate and would only be considered if insurance were provided. The board thanked the trustees and asked staff to notify the winning contractor and proceed with contracting steps.
Next steps: staff will notify the contractor and complete contract paperwork and insurance verification before work begins.
