Mattawan board approves 55 new hires across district roles

The Mattawan Consolidated School Board approved 55 new hires as part of its consent agenda on Aug. 11.
The personnel slate includes positions such as mechanic, bus drivers, elementary and middle-school paraeducators, office clerks and specialists. Examples recorded in the minutes include Nathanael Richardson (Mechanic); Cristina Voils and Ebony Swindle (bus drivers); Katherine Heystek (HS office clerk); Patricia Adams (GSRP associate teacher); and Jennifer Johncock (MS). The minutes present the full list in an attachment.
The personnel approvals were included in the consent agenda motion moved by President Ted Roethlisberger and supported by Vice President Shari Magrath; the motion passed with seven ayes and no nays. The minutes do not record individual discussion of each hire.
Administrative follow-up for onboarding and assignment of duties is expected through the superintendent's office and human-resources processes.
