The Schuylkill Valley School Board agreed to a letter of intent for 300 Chromebooks and approved a small addendum to a Trane equipment quote for elementary school ventilator coil replacements.
Mike Sopcak of Riverside Technologies told the board Riverside could hold 300 Chromebook units for the district after another customer canceled an order; the board discussed the procurement as a letter of intent so the units could be secured once the district budget permits the purchase.
Separately the board approved an addendum to a previously approved Trane U.S. quote to include payment and performance bonds for 11 unit ventilator hot-water refrigerant coil replacements at the elementary school. Dr. Winters said the addendum followed solicitor recommendation because the work could be construed as construction and therefore required bond coverage; the addendum cost was $1,800 and the motion carried unanimously (9–0).
