Members noted some quoted parts may no longer be available and advised conservative (higher) estimates for future budgets.
Speaker 3 described the units as quieter and able to provide both heating and cooling; Speaker 1 said the upstairs is humid and that current window units are “pretty old.” Potential energy rebates through Eversource and the town’s building maintenance fund were mentioned as possible offsets, but several members said this year’s budget is “pretty lean” and that partial work may be all that’s feasible in the current fiscal year.
The board did not approve immediate spending beyond collecting quotes and agreed to continue evaluating options and potential funding sources.
