Wildwood Crest adopts budget amendment, authorizes EAP contract and engineering work orders

Budget amendment: the commission adopted a resolution amending the 2025 municipal budget to reflect additional funding from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs’ Local Efficiency Achievement Program (LEAP). The clerk read the resolution and commissioners recorded a unanimous roll call vote to adopt.
Contracts and services: commissioners authorized awarding a contract to the Cape May County Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, Inc. (CAPE Assist) to provide an employee assistance program for borough staff. Separately, the commission waived application and borough support fees for Amanda’s Wish Memorial 5K Family Walk scheduled for Sept. 14, 2025.
Engineering and infrastructure authorizations: the borough approved a work order for New Jersey Avenue sanitary sewer and water‑main improvements at a not‑to‑exceed sum of $100,000 and a separate work order related to an NJ Infrastructure Bank application at a not‑to‑exceed $5,000. The engineer also received authorization to do mapping and survey work for borough‑owned beach properties (NTE $7,500). The commission approved change order #12025 for the road‑resurfacing program, adding $4,058.56 for crosswalks and as‑built adjustments, amending the contract to $158,260.56.
Appointments and escrow releases: the commission appointed Linda Medvec as an advisory member of the Wildwood Crest Green Team (term expiring 12/31/2026) and authorized release of escrow funds for two planning board applications totaling $1,980.50.
Why it matters: the engineering work orders and change order move several capital and maintenance projects toward construction and clarify borough funding for services. The EAP contract establishes staff support resources, and the budget amendment memorializes state grant assistance (LEAP) in the municipal budget.
