Ron Green was elected chair of the Sayreville Zoning Board during the board’s reorganization for 2026, and Tom Kaczynski was chosen as vice chairman.
The board opened the reorganization and called for nominations. A motion to appoint Ron Green as chair was made and seconded; after nominations were closed the board took a roll‑call vote and the nominee accepted the position. "Thank you for everyone's vote," the newly seated chair said after the vote.
The reorganization continued with other appointments. The board moved, seconded and approved nominations for Al Fisher as zoning board attorney, Jay Cornell as borough engineer, Michael Fowler as zoning board planner and Joan Kimball as recording secretary for 2026. Each nomination was supported by a motion, second and roll‑call vote by members present.
Why it matters: Reorganization sets who will preside over hearings and who advises the board on legal, engineering and planning questions for the year; those appointees will take part in future development and variance decisions.
The board closed the reorganization after completing these appointments and moved on to the regular agenda.
