On municipal technology, Tom proposed upgrading the borough's phone system to an internet-based platform that would offer feature improvements (call routing to mobile phones, consistent outbound caller ID) and potential cost savings compared with the current pay-per-call arrangement. He said the borough plans to continue with its current vendor and bring a proposal to the council for consideration.
The council did not vote on the ordinance or the phone upgrade at this meeting; Tom said both items will appear on a future agenda with supporting documentation.
