The Majority Leader read the introduction of a bill concerning the abandonment of a town with critical water infrastructure for residents (sponsor names read as Senators Belton and Henderson). The Senate also heard introductions for House Bill 1300 (Representatives Woodrow and Soper; Senator Kipp), which concerns the ability of a health service district to provide affordable housing services, and House Bill 1313 (Representative Besicker; Representative Stewart R; Senator Ball), which would adjust requirements for governments to receive funding from the statewide affordable housing fund.
The Senate then announced delivery to the governor for signature and listed multiple Senate bills to be transmitted; the clerk’s reading included an explicit delivery time to the governor of Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. The chamber concluded with announcements and a motion to adjourn. The Majority Leader moved, “I move the senate adjourn until 9AM, Thursday, 04/09/2026,” the presiding officer called for the ayes, and the motion carried.
