The city manager reported to the Owasso City Council that the inaugural 'Ringing in the Red Bud' New Year event on Dec. 31 drew an estimated 2,000 attendees and included music, activities and a drum show.
In remarks at the council's first meeting of 2026, the city manager said the event exceeded expectations for a first-year offering and provided a chance for the community to gather. “For our first year, we had estimated about 2,000 people, showed up, throughout the course of the evening,” the manager said, adding that the weather was cold but conducive to the event.
Councilors thanked staff for the event and complimented the organizers. The city manager concluded the brief report by saying the event was a success and that no further action was required at this meeting.
