Stillwater County commissioners approve Sandhill Lane, courthouse pay application and emergency team roster

The Stillwater County Board of Commissioners approved three routine items at meetings on Feb. 9 and Feb. 12, 2026: the naming of a private road as Sandhill Lane, Pay Application No. 1 for Courthouse Renovation Phase II and continued roster status for a county emergency-management team member.
Jay Hahn, of the county GIS and rural addressing office, told commissioners the requested private road name for parcel T3S, R19E, S22 was appropriate and available after his review; the board consented to the name "Sandhill Lane." Commissioner Steve Riveland moved to approve the consent item; Commissioner Roger Webb seconded and the vote was 3-0.
Under new business, Commissioner Roger Webb moved to approve Pay Application No. 1 from Dick Anderson Construction for the Courthouse Renovation Phase II project in the amount of $186,458.93. Commissioner Steve Riveland seconded the motion, which passed 3-0.
In Disaster Emergency Services business, David Stamey requested to remain rostered on the Western Montana Incident Management Team. The board voted 3-0 to approve his continued roster status.
At the Feb. 12 meeting the board also approved minutes from Feb. 2 and Feb. 5, 2026, and voted to file monthly reports from the Clerk and Recorder ($8,946.25 for January) and the Justice of the Peace ($13,655.00 for January). The board announced county offices will be closed Monday, Feb. 16, 2026, for Presidents Day.
The minutes note that these proceedings are the official record of the Board of County Commissioners and are on file with the Clerk and Recorder under Montana law (MCA 7-4-2611(2)(b)). The Feb. 9 meeting adjourned at 9:22 a.m.; the Feb. 12 meeting adjourned at 9:10 a.m.
