The total project budget for the Water Plant Capital Reserve Fund was $175,000; the lone bid returned — $206,000 — exceeds that amount by $31,000. Staff told the council that roughly $259,000 of available funds remain in the Water Plant Capital Reserve Fund due to savings from a recent roof rehabilitation, and those funds can be used to fully cover the cost.
Council moved, seconded and approved accepting the bid; council members noted the work must be fully integrated with the plant’s supervisory control and data acquisition system and that the contractor appeared qualified. The motion passed by recorded ayes.
Council directed staff to proceed with contracting and advised them to ensure integration and project oversight as the equipment is removed and replaced.
