At its meeting, the Waterford Township Board approved a series of infrastructure and administrative measures, including purchases and interlocal agreements, and handled multiple routine agenda items.
Public Works presented a request to purchase a portable sewer-inspection camera to access remote lines; trustees authorized the purchase from Brown Equipment Company for $54,034. DPW staff also sought and won authorization for Peerless Midwest to perform annual well testing and maintenance (not to exceed $176,594) and to replace Well 5-1 with a budget adjustment and authorization not to exceed $274,820. Justin (DPW) told trustees the replacement is needed because prior rehabilitation did not restore production, noted that EGLE permitting will be required and estimated the project could take roughly two years to complete.
The board voted to join Oakland County on a P25 simulcast radio interlocal agreement to improve public-safety communications and approved an agreement to use county-provided early-voting equipment and services (avoiding an estimated $150,000 capital expenditure). Trustees also approved 2026 polling-location changes for several precincts and declared 5640 Williams Lake Road surplus property with plans to list it (the deed transfer remains in progress). A nuisance-geese resolution passed, and the board adopted a coin-acceptance policy limiting acceptance of rolls of minor coins at the treasurer's office.
Consent items including minutes, bill payments and departmental reports were approved earlier in the meeting. Board and library reports noted upcoming community-room renovations and staffing updates.
What comes next: DPW will coordinate contracts and EGLE permitting for well work; the clerk's office will publish application and early-voting logistics as required.
