Waterford board approves resolution opposing state bills it says would erode local zoning control

Director Jeff Pukoski told the board the bills under discussion would conflict with local zoning tools and could undo previously adopted plans and ordinances intended to encourage a range of housing options in targeted districts.
Board members urged residents to contact state legislators and emphasized that local officials best understand their communities’ needs. The resolution was moved and adopted by roll call.
