On March 3 the Borough of Caldwell Council adopted a multi-item consent agenda by a single motion and roll-call vote, approving resolutions that the council described as routine but that include contractual and financial actions.
Notable items approved on the consent agenda included: a $250 escrow refund to a zoning board appellant; submission of the borough’s annual recycling tonnage report to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection for 2025; appointment of Ruth Peters as a substitute crossing guard effective immediately; a contract award to Natural Systems Utilities for a C-2 sanitary collection system operator; authorization for the borough administrator to seek bids for renovation of the old library building; endorsement of the borough’s housing plan element, fair share plan and spending plan; and payment of bills totaling $1,885,975.03 for the February 14–27, 2026 period. The council also approved an extension of the borough’s contract with the New Jersey Intergovernmental Insurance Fund through December 31, 2030 and authorized the purchase of office furniture through state contract not to exceed $125,000.
Council members voted unanimously to approve the consent agenda. No items were removed for separate discussion at the meeting; the clerk will complete required filings and procurement follow-up as appropriate.
