Greenville council approves seasonal food truck permit for Chef's Hand Specialties

The Greenville City Council unanimously approved a permit for Chris Petersen of Chef's Hand Specialties to operate a food truck at 1205 W. Councilperson Johnson moved and Councilperson Barrus seconded a motion approving a seasonal food truck permit for Chris Petersen of Chef's Hand Specialties to operate at 1205 W. Washington (the Public Warehouse Lot). The council unanimously adopted the motion.
The approved permit allows operation April 15 through Nov. 15, 2026, and is suspended during the Danish Festival, Aug. 21–23, 2026. The motion specified that the food truck’s location and operation must not impede traffic flow to or from adjacent properties or businesses and must comply with all health department rules and regulations. The applicant is required to pay the City of Greenville food vendor license fee.
Resident Jeff Hines, who addressed the council during the public comment period, raised concerns about numerous food truck vendors seeking to operate in the city and asked about discrepancies in the permit approval process. The minutes record his remarks but do not show a council response or further follow-up on his request for clarification.
The permit was approved by voice vote with the council present and voting unanimously (Mayor Scoby; Councilpersons Seppala, Barrus, Johnson, McBride and Mangus). The meeting adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
