The Hawaiian Gardens City Council and representatives from elected offices and partner agencies recognized Siobhan Morkage on April 8 after the council presented certificates marking her selection as a 2026 California State Senate Woman of Distinction.
Presenters included Madison Marks from the office of Senator Tony Strickland, Lauren Giocamuso representing Supervisor Janice Hahn, Aydan Pena from Congressman Derek Tran's office, Isabella Carvajar from Assemblywoman Sharon Kirk Silva's office, and a representative from the Lakewood Sheriff's Department identified as Captain David Hogan. The council also acknowledged certificates from other regional offices and partners.
Morkage, who identified herself during remarks as "Siobhan Morkage," thanked the mayor, council and city staff, described nearly a decade working with the city as a consultant and expressed appreciation to family and colleagues. She noted personal health challenges and thanked supporters for their help during treatment.
