City staff briefed the Hawaiian Gardens City Council on April 8 about the annual community parade and a three-day carnival scheduled for April 17'19, and the council voted to receive and file the staff report.
Staff reported the parade will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 18, starting at Feddy Middle School and proceeding east on 214th Street, south on Norwalk Boulevard and west on Carson to Ferguson Elementary School. The city reported about 48 participant registrations and said it has contracted with a professional traffic control company and coordinated with the LA County Sheriff's Department Southwest Patrol for security and traffic management. Staff also said the registration deadline passed on April 3.
Councilmembers thanked staff for outreach and community engagement and encouraged residents to attend. Councilmember Danny DePaola moved to receive and file the parade report; the motion was seconded and passed unanimously by roll call.
Staff also previewed carnival hours across the weekend and announced a Saturday/Sunday shuttle service to help residents travel safely to and from the event.
