The motion to allow the superintendent leeway on admissions was presented by administration to accommodate pending program approvals from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and related grant timelines. Administrators explained the district currently enrolls about 575 students and anticipates adding 50 students across two new programs (32 in construction craft labor and 18 in business technology) if approvals proceed.
