“I’m truly humbled once again by this community’s confidence in me and in this board,” Mayor Ferreira said, thanking family, staff and residents for their support. He cited recent accomplishments and near-term projects, including “a $4,500,000 New York Forward grant,” upgrades to the fire department headquarters, new turf fields and pickleball courts, and water infrastructure improvements as evidence of the board’s ongoing work.
The mayor framed the job as a demanding but rewarding public service role and said he will continue working with board members and village staff “to provide the same opportunities that have been provided me and my family in this great village.” He thanked department heads, first responders and volunteers by name or role for their work across Village Hall, Public Works, Water, Sanitation, Parks and Recreation and the library.
The address was followed by continued organizational business, including confirmation of the mayor’s slate of appointments and a motion granting the mayor authority to sign village checks for the 2026–2027 official year.
The organizational meeting included visiting elected officials; state senator Jack Barnes administered the mayoral oath and offered introductory remarks praising the mayor’s service.
