The budget motion was moved by a board member and seconded by the chair. Board member Robbie (speaker 4) moved to amend the budget to add the interventionist — putting the revised total in the low-$23.56 million range and asking for $62,000 for salary — but the amendment failed on the floor. Financial staff reported that including the amendment would raise the district’s year-over-year increase from about 1.57% to about 1.84%.
Robbie argued the interventionist is an important classroom role and asked the board to restore the position, saying, “I would like to put the interventionist back in.” The board discussed whether the $62,000 number represented salary only or the total package with benefits before voting.
After the failed amendment, the board returned to the original motion and approved the $23,499,794 budget by voice vote.

The board’s finance committee reported March year-to-date general fund revenue of $16,982,889.81 (73.41% of anticipated revenue) and general fund expenditures of $15,636,728.09 year-to-date. The administration said printed budget booklets will be mailed and a digital copy posted; the public budget meeting is scheduled for April 29 at Oak Hill High School (budget hearing at 6:30 p.m.; SRRF hearing at 5:30 p.m.).
Next steps: the board approved placing the budget warrant and validation referendum on the agenda for the upcoming public budget meeting and will proceed with the SRRF public hearing as scheduled.
