Summary
City engineering approved a closure of East Lincoln Avenue from just east of Olive Street to 930 E. Lincoln from March 16 through June 19, 2026, for phase 2 of reconstruction; detours and access plans were described and the board voted unanimously to approve.
Goshen Engineering on March 12 presented plans to close a portion of East Lincoln Avenue for phase 2 of the Stiry Avenue and Lincoln Avenue reconstruction project (2019‑0046).
Andrew Lund explained the closure would begin Monday, March 16, and continue through Friday, June 19, 2026, to allow installation of underground utilities and roadway reconstruction. Traffic will be detoured via Olive Street, Blackport Drive, Monroe Street and Logan Street. Staff said access will be maintained for residents and businesses inside the closure, including the Goshen Police Department training facility and the relocated Goshen News office.
Lund also said message boards notifying the closure were placed the morning of the meeting and that affected businesses and residents have been notified. A board member moved to approve the closure as presented and the board voted unanimously.
Next steps: contractor to implement traffic-control and detour plans; engineering staff to monitor access and coordinate with affected properties during construction.
