Milford board appoints Jane Wilkins as an alternate to the Recreation Commission

"Since my retirement in 2021, I've wanted to get more involved with community," Wilkins told the board. "I've been teaching that since then." She said she is inspired by current Recreation staff and volunteers and wants to play a larger role.
Chair Gary Daniels introduced Wilkins and asked board members for questions. When none remained, Selectwoman Tina Philbrick moved to appoint Wilkins; the motion was seconded by Selectman Chris Labonte and the board approved the appointment.
The appointment was taken from the consent side of the agenda; Wilkins will serve an alternate term through 2028. The board did not record individual roll‑call votes in the meeting minutes for this action; the motion carried in voice vote.
The board encouraged volunteers and noted openings on several town committees and commissions; the administration said appointees are often invited to the March 23 meeting to be introduced to the board.
