County approves notices for Raintree culvert special assessment; schedules next hearing
Loading...
Summary
After recalling earlier emergency work, county legal staff presented a resolution to set notices and a date for a hearing to establish a special assessment to pay for culvert replacement in the Raintree Corner subdivision; commissioners approved the resolution unanimously so notices can be sent and the second hearing scheduled.
Assistant General Counsel Chris Hicks briefed the board on the Raintree Corner subdivision culvert replacement project, including that emergency funding had been approved previously to allow public‑works work to begin. Hicks reviewed proposed forms for the notices that will be sent to property owners and asked the board to set a date certain for the required second hearing to set a special assessment.
Hicks said title/due‑diligence work and preparation are underway and that the work is expected to be completed before the rainy season. Commissioners raised no substantive questions and moved to approve the resolution setting the notices and the follow‑up hearing. The motion was seconded and carried by unanimous voice vote.
Staff will proceed to issue the notices and advertise the follow‑up hearing so the board can set the special assessment at that later meeting.
