The Grantsville City Council voted April 1 to award a professional landscape and memorial design contract for the Veterans Memorial Park to Fritz Custom Concrete following staff recommendation.
Staff said the awarded bid came in at about $31,000 and that the city already has roughly $180,000 budgeted for the project, funded largely through community donations and grants. Jolene Jenkins and other veterans‑committee members addressed the council in support of the project, noting more than 1,200 veteran names had been collected for the memorial wall and encouraging council to proceed promptly.
Council discussion noted earlier higher bids and a reduced project scope to fit the budget; council members asked the contractor to coordinate schedule details around community events, including July 4 activities. The motion to award resolution 2026‑17 passed and staff said they would work with the contractor to finalize a contract and schedule.
