Council members discussed facility readiness, portable‑bleacher rentals to increase capacity beyond the current 817 seats, restroom and parking plans, and volunteer staffing for maintenance and setup. Shelby said the event is planned as a two‑night rodeo with slack and that ticket presales would be used to gauge interest.
Council action: By motion the council approved Resolution 2026‑20 awarding the rodeo stock services contract. Council directed staff to continue securing sponsors, finalize operational logistics and manage traffic and safety plans.
