The staff member said the revisions were written to conform with the new zoning ordinance and to make the rules easier to apply in practice.
Committee members discussed whether the rules needed county-attorney review; staff said the rules were prepared alongside the ordinance and had been written by in-house staff to match the zoning changes. A committee member moved to adopt the rules, another member seconded, and the board approved them by voice vote. The Chair signed the adopted copy during the meeting.
The board did not record dissent on the motion. The updated rules will be the board’s governing procedures going forward and are expected to be used in reviewing future variance and zoning matters.
