The Blackstone-Millville school committee approved two field trips at its Oct. 13 meeting.
An eighth-grade Washington, D.C. trip was approved for June (presenter cited June 5–7 as travel dates) to support the civics curriculum with visits to memorials, Arlington and Smithsonian museums. The presenter said the trip cost is $625 per student based on 40 participants and that fundraising plans are in place; the presenter will provide a full itinerary to the committee and solicit teacher-chaperone participation.
The committee also approved a high-school trip on Dec. 9 to see a production of A Christmas Carol. The sponsor said the per-student cost is about $20 (transportation and ticket) and explained arrangements for wheelchair-accessible transport.
Committee members asked staff to supply a complete Washington, D.C. itinerary and to confirm teacher-chaperone availability; both motions passed.
