The Greenville City Council voted April 7 to approve a street-closure request submitted by the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce for the "Party on Lafayette" event on Saturday, July 18, 2026.
Councilperson Seppala moved to approve the requested closures and Councilperson Johnson seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The council approved closing M-91 from Washington to Montcalm; Cass Street east/west from the alleyway to Lafayette; and Grove Street east/west from the alleyway to Lafayette. The motion authorized closures from 1:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. for set-up and takedown, with the event scheduled 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
No special conditions or additional permitting requirements were read into the record during the motion.
