The Village of Pingree Grove board adopted an ordinance approving the fiscal year 2026–27 budget after staff described it as balanced and proactive on capital needs; the adoption followed a public hearing with no public comment.
Village of Pingree Grove trustees voted to adopt an ordinance approving the fiscal year 2026–27 budget and related financial actions after a brief public hearing that produced no public comments.
Village staff described the document as the result of six months of preparation and review. "You have before you a balanced budget, a budget that is fiscally responsible, but that is also proactive in saving for and investing in future capital obligations," said Andy, a village staff member who presented the budget and took trustees' questions.
The manager highlighted planned park improvements and a railroad parking-lot project among the larger investments the budget supports. Trustees moved to adopt the ordinance; the motion was seconded, a roll call vote was taken and the motion carried.
The board already approved a warrant list of $1,405,440.94 on the consent agenda earlier in the meeting. Staff said the budget conservatively accounts for capital needs and would allow the village to save toward future obligations. No additional public hearings on the budget were scheduled at the meeting.
