Kings County proclaims April National Public Health Week, names four department champions

Rosemary Rand of the Kings County Department of Public Health presented a proclamation for National Public Health Week and asked the board to adopt the resolution.
"It's my honor to be here before you this morning to present an item proclaiming April as National Public Health Week in Kings County," Rand said. She described the department's theme and announced a public‑health program fair on April 9 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and introduced four public health champions: Nicole Quinn (senior fiscal specialist), Melissa Kevorkian (senior office assistant), Marcela Castellanos (supervising public health nurse), and Nanette Villareal of United Way as the community partner.
The board moved to adopt the proclamation and the clerk recorded affirmative votes; the resolution passed during the meeting.
What happens next: the department will hold the fair and related events during National Public Health Week and coordinate internal recognition of employees and partners.
