The Casa Grande City Council approved Resolution 5902 to award a construction manager/contract to BNF Contracting Inc. for intersection improvements on Florence Boulevard, including signal upgrades at the Peart and Arizona intersections, in an amount not to exceed $1,805,925.
City staff told the council the Peart intersection work will focus on signal and aging‑wiring infrastructure and should not require lane closures beyond temporary, short‑term impacts. The Arizona intersection work includes additional left‑turn lanes, ADA ramps, curb and gutter, drainage and related restoration.
Staff said work is scheduled to begin in April and the city anticipates a little over four months for project completion; the city will provide public communications to minimize traffic disruptions. Council asked for a project schedule and staff agreed to include a Gantt‑style schedule in the monthly project report.
The resolution passed by roll call. The clerk recorded affirmative votes from Council members as read: Council member Ramo (yes); Council member Dugan (yes); Council member Edwards (yes); Council member Huddleston (yes); Council member Herman (yes); Mayor Pro Tem Dillon (yes); and Mayor Fitzgibbons (yes).
