At its April 9 meeting the East Hampton Architecture Review Board approved an extension of time for a property at 57 Acaponic Road (Suffolk County tax map 300-187-3-17) and voted to notify the building department that three properties have satisfied ARB conditions and may be issued certificates of occupancy.
Committee member Diane moved to grant the extension of time for the 57 Acaponic Road project, noting an earlier extension had been issued in 2019 and that there did not appear to be hardship preventing the requested delay. The Chair seconded the motion and the board approved it by voice vote (voice vote counts not specified in the transcript).
The board then reviewed a certificate-of-occupancy recommendation for the same 57 Acaponic Road property and voted to instruct staff to tell the building department that the applicant satisfied the conditions of the ARB resolution dated 2018 and that a certificate of occupancy can be issued.
The board considered 9 Old Orchard Lane (tax map 300-142-1-11), where the applicant removed unapproved fencing and a light fixture, adjusted fencing out of the scenic easement, installed mahogany decking, cable rail and a generator, and otherwise met conditions from the March 19, 2025 resolution. Board member Claire moved to notify the building department that the conditions were satisfied; the motion carried by voice vote.
For a property in Montauk (tax map 300-27-4-16), the applicant removed illegal structures and addressed a fire-department observation by converting a garage door to a pedestrian door. A board member moved to notify the building department that the applicant substantially conforms to the ARB approval (resolution dated March 13, 2025) and that a certificate of occupancy may be issued; the motion passed by voice vote.
All three certificate-of-occupancy recommendations and the extension of time were approved by voice votes at the meeting; the transcript records affirmative “Aye” responses but does not provide roll-call tallies. The board adjourned after completing the agenda.
