At its Sept. 3 meeting, the Beardstown City Council approved a $10,000 contribution to the Lincoln Courtroom & Museum Commission for an Abraham Lincoln statue (50% Tourism Fund, 50% General Fund) and authorized a temporary closure of Sixth Street for a St. Alexis Catholic Church event on Sept. 8, 2024.
Mayor Tim Harris called the Beardstown City Council to order at 6:38 p.m. on Sept. 3 at City Hall, where members approved a $10,000 contribution toward an Abraham Lincoln statue and granted a temporary street closure for a church event.
