The Parks and Community Services Commission voted 6–0 on April 8 to accept the interview panel’s recommendations for 18 Team Council appointees and to forward the prioritized list to the City Council for appointment and implementation of terms expiring in July 2027.
Commissioners commended the review process used by the three interviewers who screened roughly 70 applications and interviewed about 40 candidates. “That was a labor of love,” one commissioner said, thanking the reviewers and staff for organizing the interviews.
A motion to accept the recommended slate (packet page 125) was moved and seconded; commissioners noted the strong talent pool among applicants and said they expect the incoming Team Council to be active and engaged in student leadership and community service.
The commission authorized staff to forward the recommended list and the prioritized wait list to the City Council for final appointment and suggested continuing outreach to ensure broad school representation.
