Developer asks Ione council for support to compel repairs on Wildflower subdivision streets

Thomas Borg of Axios Homes briefed the council on ongoing road-settlement problems in the Wildflower subdivision and asked for the council’s support to press insurance and bonding remedies to finish repairs.
Borg said multiple geotechnical reports and three years of monitoring show settlement has stabilized on affected sections of Lupine and Honeysuckle drives, but that the contractor and insurer have not completed repairs. He said the developer has filed claims with the contractor’s insurer (Travelers Indemnity) and discussed possible legal steps, bond activation and complaints to licensing authorities.
Council members responded with urgency, noting residents have waited several years for repairs and expressing willingness to support the developer’s effort to secure insurance-bond payments or pursue additional remedies. "Whatever you need to do, you've got the support of this council," one member said. Borg offered to return with progress updates on a quarterly basis.
No formal council action was taken at the meeting beyond verbal support and an offer to monitor progress and report back to the full council; Borg requested authorization to pursue remedies conditioned on city support.
