Staff said the settlement’s gross amount is about $97.625 million; after attorney fees, administration and taxes the estimated net pool is roughly $83.625 million. Enid's allocation, based on the settlement formula, would be a little over 0.01% of the net amount and the city's gross share would be approximately $10,546.
Staff recommended participation and described likely uses consistent with other opioid settlement funds, including support for drug-court programming, nonprofit coordination and plans to convene a resource fair for victims and partner agencies. The deadline to agree to participate is May 4; staff asked the commission to authorize participation and give the mayor and city manager authority to finalize related documents.
