The Milford Budget Advisory Committee voted 7‑2 to support a petitioned $15,000 Recreation Bus Fund appropriation.
Chair Karen Mitchell moved and secured a second, and the committee completed a roll call that returned 7 votes in favor and 2 opposed. Several members asked for clarification about overlapping capital reserve accounts (equipment, vehicles, Keys expansion) and whether the bus’s maintenance and repairs are funded through a revolving fund, capital reserves or the Recreation Department’s operating budget. One committee member said a revolving fund contains only a small "rainy day" balance and that there is no dedicated line item for bus repairs in the revolving fund; other members agreed that the department may need to budget bus repairs explicitly.
Members also noted the bus’s mileage (reported as roughly 14,000 miles) and that it uses gasoline. The committee assigned a majority and minority write‑up and instructed members to clarify fund relationships and maintenance responsibilities at Deliberative if necessary.
