"We don't really have any say in the contract, but we do have a say in whether or not we support it," Mitchell said in opening remarks.
After a motion to take a preliminary vote and a second, the committee conducted a roll call and registered a 9‑0 preliminary vote in support. The committee noted this was a preliminary advisory position to be published ahead of the Deliberative session; the final public debate and any formal town action occur later in the warrant process.
The panel did not amend contract terms and emphasized that the committee’s role is advisory. Committee members asked follow‑up budget questions but did not identify additional costs beyond the summary presented by staff.
The committee will include its opinion in the Deliberative materials to be submitted to the town clerk and state authorities per DRA timing requirements.
