Hancock County supervisors approve Forest City special election canvass, set budget hearing

The Hancock County Board of Supervisors met in adjourned session March 24, 2026, in Garner and unanimously approved a set of routine procedural items, including the formal canvass of the City of Forest City special election and the scheduling of a public hearing on the county’s 2026–2027 budget.
Supervisor Gary Rayhons moved to approve the tentative agenda; Supervisor Florence (Sis) Greiman seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. Greiman then moved to approve the minutes for March 23, 2026 and March 24, 2026 at 9:00 a.m.; Rayhons seconded and that motion also carried unanimously.
On a motion by Rayhons, seconded by Greiman and carried unanimously, the board approved the canvass of the Special Election (City of Forest City) held March 17, 2026, and set April 13, 2026, at 9:15 a.m. as the date and time for the public hearing on Hancock County’s fiscal year 2026–2027 budget.
Supervisor Rayhons moved to adjourn at 11:43 a.m.; the motion carried with all supervisors present voting “Aye.” The minutes are attested by Michelle K. Eisenman, Auditor, and the meeting record is signed by Osmund “Bud” Jermeland, chair. The board is scheduled to meet again on March 30, 2026.
