Board approves consent items, denies readmission for five students and approves one readmission

Board member Israel Fuentes moved to adopt and Joanne Ojeda seconded; the board adopted the agenda on a 6–1 vote. Later the board moved to approve action items 4.1 through 4.44 (excluding withdrawn 4.41). A motion by board member Frank Ibarra, seconded by Israel Fuentes, carried on a 7–0 vote.
Closed session student discipline and readmission After convening to closed session, the board reported it reviewed student discipline matters under the California Education Code. The board denied readmission for five students who had not completed required rehabilitation plans; motion by Israel Fuentes and second by Joanne Thoring Ojeda carried 7–0. The board also approved the readmission of one student (student number 1068836) who had completed the district plan of rehabilitation; motion carried 7–0. The district read the affected student identification numbers into the public record for the denied readmissions.
Personnel The board approved personnel items presented in closed session, including multiple certificated hires, classified hires, volunteers and leaves of absence; the vote was recorded as 7–0.
