Harrison Township trustees approve consent agenda, bills and project contracts; appoint new DDA member

The Harrison Township Board of Trustees on May 27 approved a package of routine and project-related items, including bills totaling $1,918,063.52 and several vendor contracts and repairs.
On a motion by Trustee Brian Batkins with a second from Trustee David Bratto, the board approved the Consent Agenda and the bills in the amount of $1,918,063.52; the motion record notes Item A.8 was removed from the agenda because it had been approved at a previous meeting. The Consent Agenda also recorded approval of the Regular Board minutes of May 12, 2025, and an amendment to the 2025 Annual Meeting Calendar.
Other items approved under motions by Trustee Batkins included a $4,508.07 repair for SMART Bus 36124, Michigan Townships' Association annual dues of $8,521.00 for July 1, 2025–June 30, 2026, and authorization to repair a 15HP Flyght pump by A & C Electric for $11,422.00.
The Supervisor recommended appointing Evan Paul, a manager at Luigi's Original, to the Downtown Development Authority to fill a vacancy; Trustee Batkins moved and Trustee Liza Brown seconded the appointment, and the motion carried. The appointment term is recorded to expire March 23, 2027.
For the Library and Campus Improvement project, architects Daniels and Zermack requested survey services; Urban Land Consultants was the low bidder at $6,800 and the board approved contracting with them for the work.
Public comment included Carlos Robinson speaking about trash service and C. William Bardill addressing several items. Trustee Dean Olgiati thanked township staff for their work responding to water breaks.
The board adjourned at 7:27 p.m. after Treasurer Lawrence Tomenello moved to adjourn and Trustee Brian Batkins seconded; the motion carried.
