Nome Public Schools board ratifies appointment, approves FY26 budget revision

The Nome Public Schools Board of Education on Nov. 11 ratified an appointment to its board and approved its first fiscal-year 2026 budget revision.
Member Darlene Trigg moved to ratify Sigvanna Tapqaq’s appointment to fill Seat B of the board until the original term expires in October 2026; the motion carried by roll-call vote. Member Jon Gregg then moved to approve FY26 Budget Revision No. 1, which the board approved by the same roll-call tally. The minutes record the votes as Marjorie Kunaq Tahbone: yes; Darlene Trigg: yes; Jon Gregg: yes; Nancy Mendenhall: yes; Sigvanna Tapqaq: excused; Sara James (advisory vote): yes.
